Well, Hello There!

I have been soooo uninspired to update my blog lately. Ohwell.  Anyway, here are some pictures from two Fridays ago. We had a little surprise b-day party for my friend who is turning into a Mrs. in June. We went to Fort, specifically Jamba Juice, and fellowshipped there.

The title is, "Love Song for No One" (Oh dear, how sad!)

I can't say I can think this way. Perhaps, when I have those "emo" moments or silly pity-parties!  However, I truly believe that "what-if" questions leave out God's sovereignty and negates the cliche, "If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be!" If God meant for something to happen, then He would cause all things to work out, even if it's meeting that person in a sandbox.

That's just my two cents worth.

Yes, I Am One Of Those...

I am one of those who take pictures in the fitting room. I have to. The other day I couldn't decide which top to get. I am usually very indecisive when it comes to buying things and "if I were a boy" I wish I could just walk into a store, grab something wearable and go. DONE.

So what did I get? (I can't believe I'm sharing this, wahaha)

If you saw me yesterday, you know what I chose. I like all three. But the first one was too kiddie. I like the color. I like the big HEART, but my fez... it looks too young to be wearin some teenage tee. The next one. Well, Im semi obsessed with animal prints. No complaints. The last one is definitely fun top. Compared to the first one, I think this probably added 5 years to my age, which makes me hmmmm, 22 --- but still not my real age!!! 

SOOO after all that little photoshoot, I had to drop everything, walk it off, and process. LOL.

Laugh It Off & Move On

You know that feeling when someone cracks up a joke about you and you were offended by it, but you're not so sure if you should be insulted cause it is a "rendered" as a joke? Well, that happened a few days ago and all I could do was smile. I wanted to be all grumpy and upset, but I had to remind myself who I am and Whose I am.  Of course, it's never easy to put words into practice... It's never easy to laugh it off and pretend nothing happened, but if you take that time to process and BREATHE, it will save you a lot of drama in life. 

Sometimes, it's just better to laugh it off and move on.

Humidity and Amygdala!?

Lately, I've been busying myself with some readings. I borrowed three heavy textbooks from the library and how I wish I can just buy it from there! It's so informative. 

So I'd like to share what struck me the most. One of the major implications that I got from  my readings is how our brain develops during the adolescent stage. There is a region in our brain called AMYGDALA that is responsible for processing information about emotions. This part develops and matures faster than our prefrontal cortext, which is especially important in higher-order cognitive functioning such as DECISION MAKING! "So this means that the brain region for putting the brakes on risky, impulsive behavior is still under construction." So my friends, this accounts for most of our reckless decision makings or emo-phases in life and I guess this explains why talking to a 14 or 16 year old can sometimes be unbelievably stressful when you've told them time and time again that what they're about to do is going to be a dead end, but they still end up doing it anyway. Hmmm, the science behind life.

1. Nuts. Favorite are almonds!!! Wooop!
2. Neatness. I love neat, clean, organized spaces. I used to be a neat freak. I've toned down since I entered college... HA! My roommate once said, "If you can't beat them, join them..." Ugh. Worst decision ever.
3. Nice people. It is just a blessing.
4. Nat Geo! Border Wars and Lockdown are my fave!
5. I love NAPS!!! I LOVE NAPSSSS!
6. HOW CAN I FORGET! NEW YORK! OF COURSE I LOVE NEW YORK!!! I would give anything to go back!!!

1. Negativity! Lemme tell you, negative people suck the life out of you! People who have a dark cloud above them need to find joy and peace in JESUS!!! lol! (im guilty of this, too)
2. NAUPATHIA - according to a source, it is sea sickness. I didn't even know this word exists! Ha! If you know me, I carry anything mentholated that's similiar to a Tiger Balm! I get motion sickness or DIZZY easily and I hate it.  But the worst feeling is NAUPATHIA!
3.Nagging. If it can be said with a good tone, then do it.

Third Wheel

Ola ola. Haven't written in a while. My sister's laptop fell into a coma (and still is) and its absence has hindered me from posting new entries despite the fact that I own a laptop. I do most editing stuff on it, so it was quite a loss. For now, I have to reconcile with Mr. hp.

Last Satruday, I was a third wheel to my parents' date. Talk about AWKWARD! Geeez. Jk. It was nice to spend time with them as usual. We had awesome Chinese food for lunch, window shopped, and had coffee, pudding, and a sandwich for merienda

Give Me A Letter: I

I'm getting a hang of this. I think this little activity makes me more aware of myself and what I like! Ooh! Kind of like a getting-to-know-you stage... Only it's with myself. Aww. Cue violin.

LOVE:
1. Internet. Whoever invented the world wide web is a freakin genius! Whoever you are, you are well appreciated! A single website alone opens a WORLD that you never knew existed.. such as: THIS NEXT
2. Ice water. I was unsure about putting this up here cause of my love-hate relationship with ICE cold water, but at the moment I'm having a glass and it's totally refreshing. . . Ahhhh. . . But usually I drink hot water after I eat. It was advised, from what I heard.
3. Interaction. For starters, it can be awkward, but once the chemistry sets in, it is completely liberating. It. is. fun!
4. You'd think ice cream should be part of the list, but to tell you honestly I don't always crave for it as some people do. It is the same for chocolates! I crave for fruits much more than cakes and pastries! :o) So my last I is: ISLANDS. Back in college, I went to Grenada for a missions trip and I was fascinated with how tiny the island is! OMG! It was absolutely beautiful down there. If I can find pictures, Ill gladly post them up. I wish to go to Maldieves Island someday! OMG!!! OMGGG!!! It's sooo beautiful!
NO TE AMO:
1. IPIS! Cucaracha!!! Cockroaches!!! I don't understand why we have frequent visitors when our house is not filthy!
2. Insecurities. Everybody has at least ONE thing that makes them feel insecure. It may not be something that constantly vexing the person, but at least something that makes one go, "I don't feel I'm good enough... I don't feel pretty... " Insecurities are a pain in the neck and one must realize that insecurities are lies and mere creations of our imaginations. . . They may be true to an extent, because after all man is not perfect like God who is extremely beautiful and extremely capable in doing everything, but we have the power to illuminate the negative twice more and to turn it into some kind of tyrant who recklessly rules our hearts. It must not be that way. . . Everything starts with our eyes... Then our mind... Thus our behavior follows. Whew. --- I must do a whole different post on this topic.
3. Impatience --- I need to change that!
4. Incompetence. I put this pressure on myself sometimes. It's not very good!

I'm Wishful and I'm Thankful

Thanks to my favorite blogger, Katie, I thought to plug in my thoughts on what I'm wishful and thankful for. 

So. 

I wish to meet God's best so I can enjoy going on dates, enjoy loads of hugs, and many many more...

I'm thankful that I'm still single and enjoying what's in front of me. I know God is refining me to be the best WIFE and mother (oh crud, what a scary thought!)

I wish that I had the brain of a genius and physical strength that doesn't easily tire so that I didn't have to quit my job... But...

I'm thankful that I was given this privilege to go back to school...

I wish that I live in a country where there are tons of parks and GREEN STUFF! But

I'm thankful that I live in a country where I'm close to my family and where people can freely worship God. I'm thankful that God belongs in this CITY!

I wish that I can find more awesome places to just take pictures...

I'm thankful that I can use my room or the area I live in as my studio - for now

I wish that my blog was as popular as others so that I can reach out to more people and be a light...

I'm thankful for whoever comes across my blog... if I can make just one person inspired and get down on their knees for God, then I did my job...

I wish I don't feel so sluggish right now!

I'm thankful for the much needed vacation!

I wish I can stop typing because I have way tooo many wishes that causes me to intentionally think of things to be thankful for!!! HAHAHA

I'm thankful that I have enough to be thankful for!! HAHAHAHA So I have no excuse to not be content with life.

Love

Love is a commitment. It is not a feeling. 

The Bible teaches us that LOVE bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Cor. 13:7, NASBV).  In essence, love believes in the best.

When dealing with people who have the potential to annoy you or piss you off, second-guesses or vain imaginations will inevitably enter your head. Because of this, we need to take responsibility over what enters our minds. We cannot be lazy with our thoughts because they are deceitful. We need to be disciplined by controlling what we believe in. Anyone can believe anything that's not true and still have those ideas affect their feelings that will eventually dictate their behavior. The last thing we want in our life is disunity, tension, and conflicts. We were made for relationships and loving the way Christ loves can only change the way we live around people.

Philippians 4:8  Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

Genuine Christianity is to keep on loving and to believe in the best.

40 Days of Love on CCF

Mr. Tom-Toms.

Last Saturday, I brought these sparkly bad boys home! I am very pleased with it because they’re like paper and they’re super comfortable! It’s like floating on air with sparkles! Plus, I love the idea of giving back to the community in Argentina. I admire Mr. Tom for starting the One for One Movement. Can you imagine getting your first pair of shoes? I can’t. Life for me is too blessed, but unfortunately the more you have, the more you want. LIFE is never content enough (hence why I bought these shoes in the first place ---sigh) But anyway, since I kind of ruined the mood of being joyful about it and now feeling slightly guilty, the lesson I can learn from this experience is to be thankful for every bit of blessing I have. You just have to.

Sunday Happyness

Sister and I went on a "date" after church then watched Burlesque. I liked the movie.

We ate at a Japanese Restaurant, Rai Rai Ken, but as you can see, our food does not look so Japanese. Lols. We didn't want to spend money on TEENY TINY makis, cause this place isn't authentic... Just simple and cheap (cheap, I mean affordable). For dessert, we had Peek-A-Pom at MONDO juice. IT'S MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! I CAN LIVE IN THAT PLACE!!!

Smeyez, Not Cross-eyed!

My sister and I love watching America’s Next Top Model. (Tyra is a really awesome model, but her talk show, hmmm, I’ll pass.) But yeah, ANTM is exciting to watch and we copy off the poses that the models do. It’s hysterical to even attempt being fierce! Our stiff bodies can only do so much exhibitions! WAH! Anyway, we were particularly blown away by the bone structure of this wolf-eyed Raina Hein of cycle 14. She looks fabulous! My sister tried to copy her and lemme tell you, she did NOT do justice to Raina's winner pose. I was like, “Uhhh, smeyes, not cross-eyed!” We laughed our tushies off. 

Anyway, here are some pictures taken from last week’s church service with our President, President Noynoy Aquino, also known as “P.Noy” (which really cool since the nation has high hopes in his leadership and we the FILIPINOS are called PINOYS in short)! The church, CCF (Christ’s Commission Fellowship) together with K4 Philippines, had the privilege to invite the President to attend service and be prayed for. 

So here I am... getting a little ADHD as we waited for the service to start. I fiddled around with my friend’s Lumix (thanks Jopet!!!). 

 

 

Christmas Already?!? 2 More Days.

It seriously doesn't feel like Christmas. Why do I keep saying this? Well, when I was growing up every street corner around my neighborhood would sparkle with bright Christmas lights! The houses, the streets, would be heavily decorated and it seemed like people took the holidays wayyy too seriously. This time, people would rather save on electricity and be more practical with the decorations. . . Like us! HA!

Anyway, have any of you peeped through your presents already? My sister and I used to do that all the time when we were young. We were even considerate enough to tape it all back after!

Hmmm... If I were to choose my presents... These are what I will give ME!
